Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sherwin Frank (ranked 3971 p4p, 23852 weight class) and Balthazar Carmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sherwin Frank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balthazar Carmen! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnem�ki, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurstr�m.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frank goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Balthazar Carmen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carmen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Frank swats him away and circles back towards the center. Carmen tries to clinch up.
Frank drives through with a takedown into Carmen's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Carmen is looking to stand back up but Frank counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Carmen.
Frank not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frank stalling.
Frank is working for a kimura but Carmen is defending it quite comfortably.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frank stands up and beckons Carmen to join him on the feet.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Carmen closes the distance but Frank moves to the side
and Frank counters with a shoot takedown. Carmen fights it but they end up in guard. Our spies down at at Cozad Amsterdam inform us that Carmen has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Frank content to stall in guard here. Frank has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a sustained period of stalling by Frank.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Frank's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Carmen wants to get back to his feet but Frank is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Frank gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. The fight stays on the outside here - Carmen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Carmen is looking to clinch. Carmen wants to clinch up but Frank keeps it at a distance.
Frank feints and as Carmen raises his hands in defense, Frank changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Frank wants to stand but Carmen is controlling his posture from full guard. Frank showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Frank looking to pass the guard. Frank is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Frank seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carmen for as long as he can get away with. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Frank continues to stall.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sherwin Frank dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Carmen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Frank manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Frank scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Frank just content to control the position. Carmen is not content to let Frank control the position.
Frank wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Carmen, who protects the arm well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carmen parries the strikes from Frank easily there. Frank is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Carmen to escape.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Frank has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Carmen! Frank controlling from the full mount. Frank misses with a head shot. Frank throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Frank looking to control and managing it successfully. Frank unloads with some shots from mount but Carmen bucks and avoids them well.

Frank is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Carmen is surviving well by controlling Frank's body position as best he can. Frank sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Carmen avoids a series of strikes thrown by Frank.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Frank controlling the position easily from mount. Frank trying to control but Carmen is having none of it. Carmen avoids a strike by Frank and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Frank's guard! Fantastic escape!
Carmen won't allow Frank to get back to his feet.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Carmen wants to get up but he can't break Frank's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Frank pulls Carmen in close to his closed guard and prevents Carmen from doing any damage or advancing position. Carmen won't allow Frank to sweep him here. Frank has Carmen pulled in close to control his posture. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Frank looking for a sweep. Not yet Frank, not yet. Carmen tries to stand but Frank is controlling from the bottom.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Sherwin Frank dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Carmen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Frank to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Frank decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Carmen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carmen wants it to stay on the feet. Frank keeps the fight on the outside. Frank tries to counter with a takedown but Carmen is quick to defend against it. Frank is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carmen can do to turn this around? Frank keeps the fight on the outside. Frank seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Carmen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Frank paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Frank gets tackled into the cage by Carmen. Carmen maintains the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frank is trying to pull guard but Carmen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Carmen blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Frank escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carmen rushes Frank and presses him up against the cage.
Frank breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carmen fails with an attempt to clinch.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Carmen is looking to clinch. Carmen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Frank manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Carmen is looking to clinch but Frank is avoiding it.

Carmen darts in and clinches Frank up against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Carmen fails to land. Frank can't find room to land a body shot as Carmen controls the action.

Carmen misses with some punches.

Frank keeps the fight on the outside.

 Balthazar Carmen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Carmen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Frank looking for a sweep. Not yet Frank, not yet. Carmen is looking to stand up but Frank won't let him.
Carmen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Frank is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carmen wants to get up but he can't break Frank's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Frank is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carmen defends well. Frank is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Frank looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carmen is one step ahead there.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Frank is adopting a defensive guard. Frank doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carmen misses with a straight left. Frank is looking to counter the offense by Carmen and move into the clinch. Frank keeps the fight on the outside. Carmen throws a looping overhand right but Frank ducks down to avoid it. Sherwin Frank is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Carmen misses the jab. Carmen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Frank counters by clinching up.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sherwin Frank. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Frank, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
