With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vinod Rangathan! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasilyev drives through with a takedown into Rangathan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Vasilyev lands a couple of digs. Vasilyev scoring with some ground and pound. Rangathan controls Vasilyev momentarily but Vasilyev frees himself. Vasilyev postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Vasilyev being controlled here momentarily. Vasilyev stops Rangathan from standing up. Vasilyev with a nice head shot there. Vasilyev is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.  Rangathan is rocked! Vasilyev gets to his feet and stands over Rangathan, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Rangathan felt that one! Vasilyev unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Rangathan from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivanov Vasilyev! Our winner, Ivanov Vasilyev, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
