Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Boytsov (ranked 707 p4p, 718 weight class) and Marshall Praust (ranked 93 p4p, 95 weight class). Praust has chosen Holidays In The Sun as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boytsov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marshall Praust! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boytsov moves out of range of the body kick.
Boytsov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Praust to score an easy takedown into full guard. Boytsov wants to sweep but no luck. Boytsov working a defensive guard here.
Boytsov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Boytsov working for a triangle but Praust defends it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boytsov wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Praust is now in half guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Praust wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boytsov keeps working. Praust passes the guard and advances to mount! Praust prevents Boytsov from getting the reversal. BOOM! Praust connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boytsov tries to reverse the position but Praust maintains control. Praust landing strikes, looking to finish!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Boytsov keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Boytsov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Praust controls Boytsov momentarily but Boytsov frees himself.
Boytsov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Praust has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boytsov has managed to get both his arms back between Praust's legs - danger averted.
Boytsov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Praust looking to hit a scissor sweep but Boytsov is one step ahead there. Boytsov trying to control but Praust is working from the bottom. Boytsov looking to sit in guard and control but Praust gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boytsov throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Praust escapes and throws Boytsov's legs to the side, diving into side control! Boytsov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Praust wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Boytsov takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Boytsov manages to work his way to half guard, despite Praust's best efforts. Boytsov is looking to improve his position.
Boytsov is refusing to be controlled, as Praust sits in half guard.
Boytsov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Praust is keen to just control but Boytsov is a slippery customer.
 That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boytsov looking for submissions off his back. Praust passes to full mount! Praust looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Praust tries to control but Boytsov wriggling away. Boytsov tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Praust pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Boytsov is trying to escape the mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Marshall Praust dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Praust throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Boytsov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Boytsov is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Praust. Praust misses with a body punch
and Boytsov counters with a lovely straight right hand! Boytsov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Praust. Praust obviously looking to wear him down.
Boytsov with a lazy takedown attempt and Praust counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Boytsov thinking.
Praust drives through with a takedown into Boytsov's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Praust trying to control the position from guard on top but Boytsov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boytsov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Praust defends it easily.
Boytsov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Praust tries to free his leg and advance position but Boytsov is retaining full guard. Praust is in close to Boytsov's body, working some short punches and elbows. Praust trying to control but Boytsov is working from the bottom. Praust is working Boytsov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Praust postures up.
Praust passes Boytsov's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Boytsov trying to hold on to Praust's head to control him but Praust postures up.
Praust has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boytsov works his way to full guard. Good work. Praust throws a strike but Boytsov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Boytsov advances to half guard. Praust wants to improve his position but Boytsov is controlling well.

Praust is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Praust is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Praust keeping moving, preventing Boytsov from controlling successfully.
Boytsov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Marshall Praust has got the better of the ground game so far. Boytsov trying to control the position from guard on top but Praust is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Boytsov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Praust is keeping the position for now. Boytsov advances to half guard.
Boytsov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Praust is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Boytsov pulls his head out easily.
Boytsov wants to work for an arm triangle but Praust is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Boytsov passes to side control.
Boytsov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Praust sneaks back into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Praust wants to get back to full guard. Praust missing with punches from the bottom.
Praust tries to roll over but Boytsov keeps him under control. Boytsov trying to control from Praust's half guard. Praust has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Praust is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Praust is trying to control the position from the bottom.

A close second round but Marshall Praust will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Boytsov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Praust's guard. Boytsov trying to control but Praust is working from the bottom. Praust being controlled here, momentarily.

Boytsov content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Praust has locked up a guillotine! Praust's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Boytsov is holding on here and Praust must be using up a lot of energy. Boytsov has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Praust gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
