Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alfonz Novak (ranked 923 p4p, 797 weight class) and Shane Fergusson (ranked 117 p4p, 102 weight class). Novak comes to the cage accompanied by A Tout Le Monde - Megadeth. Fergusson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Scotland the brave. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alfonz Novak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Fergusson!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novak closes the distance but Fergusson moves to the side
and Fergusson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Novak tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fergusson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Novak clinches up against the cage.
Novak is looking for a takedown.
Novak looking to stall.
Novak is looking to control Fergusson's arms but Fergusson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Novak has his back to the cage.
Novak missing with knees to the body.
Fergusson avoids a wild elbow strike from Novak.
Fergusson has Novak pressed against the cage, preventing Novak from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Novak is trying to force a seperation but Fergusson has the dominant position.
Fergusson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Novak throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fergusson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fergusson jabs Novak to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Fergusson throws a looping overhand right but Novak ducks down to avoid it.
Novak is looking to clinch but Fergusson is avoiding it.
Novak looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Fergusson stuffs the takedown.
Fergusson tries to keep at a distance but Novak has taken the fight into the clinch.

Novak tries a knee to the head but Fergusson blocks it.

Fergusson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Novak has managed to clinch.
Novak has Fergusson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fergusson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alfonz Novak. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Novak goes for a takedown attempt but Fergusson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The crowd cheers as Fergusson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Novak doesn't seem phased though.

Novak fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Novak scores with a jab. Fergusson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Novak doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Fergusson counters with a stiff right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Novak ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Novak misses with a wild body shot.
Fergusson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Novak is rocked!
Fergusson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Novak has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Novak fails with an attempt to clinch.
Novak scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fergusson doesn't seem bothered though.
Novak shoots in but no luck this time.
Fergusson appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Novak fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fergusson manages to avoid it.
Novak is looking to wear down Fergusson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Novak moves out of range as Fergusson throws a body kick.
Novak displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fergusson throws out the jab.
Novak tries to clinch but Fergusson moves out of range.

The fight stays on the outside here - Novak looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Novak cracks Fergusson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Novak is looking to clinch but Fergusson is avoiding it.
Novak on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Novak is defended easily by Fergusson.

and Fergusson counters with a nice right hand that sends Novak toppling to the canvas! Novak scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Fergusson finish him?!
Oh Novak is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

After winning the bout, Shane Fergusson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
