Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Younger Blood (ranked 2078 p4p, 2582 weight class) and Scooter Dahan (ranked 211 p4p, 271 weight class). Younger Blood has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Younger Blood!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Scooter Dahan!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dahan.
Blood looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Blood fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Dahan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Blood counters with a series of strikes. Dahan will be more careful next time no doubt.
Blood lands a head kick!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Blood!
Blood lands a jab-cross combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!

A lazy body kick from Blood

and Dahan counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Blood has his feet on Dahan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dahan is defended easily by Blood.
Younger Blood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scooter Dahan.

Blood throws a hook but Dahan avoids it easily.

Dahan changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Blood bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dahan's head.
Dahan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Blood defends well and Dahan ends up having to push Blood into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Blood wants the takedown. Dahan is fighting it off but Blood persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dahan's guard against the cage.
Blood stands and throws Dahan's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Dahan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Blood throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Dahan is not content to let Blood control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dahan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Blood trying to control the action but Dahan is working from the bottom.
Blood slows the pace down.
Dahan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Blood stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Blood sneaks out the side door and pushes Dahan away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Dahan wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Blood.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Dahan is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Blood shoots for a double leg takedown but Dahan sprawls well. He's pushed Blood's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And Dahan tries to counter it with a takedown but Blood pushes his down on his head and steps out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blood is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dahan can do to turn this around?

Dahan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Blood wants to stand up but Dahan is controlling him.
Blood seems keen to control Dahan's posture.
Dahan wants to control from the top but Blood keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blood throws a good cross that connects.
No joy there for Blood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Blood dives in and scores a takedown into Dahan's guard.

Dahan looking for a guillotine here but Blood defends easily.
Younger Blood overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Blood controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Blood will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Blood wants to pass to mount but Dahan is defending the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dahan keeps working.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Younger Blood dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Blood lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dahan circles away quickly and effectively.
Blood feints and then cracks Dahan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dahan down.
Younger Blood is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dahan fails with a takedown attempt.

Dahan shoots in and gets a takedown into Blood's guard.

Blood pushes Dahan off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dahan enables Blood to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dahan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dahan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Blood slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dahan is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Blood jumps into side control!

Dahan regains full guard. Nicely done.
We've been informed that Dahan has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Dahan wants to sweep here but Blood controlling him for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dahan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blood defends it easily.

Younger Blood showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Blood has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
