Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freddie Xenon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mikhail Popkov!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popkov lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Xenon shoots in looking for a takedown but Popkov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Xenon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Popkov fails to land with a series of punches.
Popkov works the jab nicely.
Xenon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Xenon dives in and grabs Popkov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Popkov pushes down on Xenon's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddie Xenon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Popkov lands with a nice combination. Xenon backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Freddie Xenon has been cut.
Popkov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Popkov cracks Xenon with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Xenon looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away� can Popkov finish him?
Xenon is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Xenon throws a sloppy head kick and Popkov moves out of range easily.
Oh Xenon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Popkov cracks Xenon with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Xenon falls to his knees and Popkov doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mikhail Popkov!
A relieved looking Mikhail Popkov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Freddie Xenon stepped up to the mic, saying 'I will come back stronger and a better version of myself. Thank you for watching me fight.'.
