The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saputra misses with an uppercut
and Bjurstrom counters with a three punch combo that has Saputra backing up. Saputra nods at Bjurstrom to acknowledge the strikes.
Saputra fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bjurstrom manages to avoid it.
Saputra takes a swing at Bjurstrom's ribcage but misses.
Bjurstrom throws a right hand that Saputra ducks under and follows up with a left that Saputra also avoids with ease.
Saputra tests Bjurstrom's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Saputra throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Saputra shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bjurstrom eats them both and turns towards Saputra to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Saputra looks to land a combination but Bjurstrom avoids it well.

Bjurstrom uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saputra.

Saputra shoots in for a takedown but Bjurstrom shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bjurstrom cracks Saputra with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Saputra lands a head kick. Bjurstrom smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and Bjurstrom counters with a straight right hand.
Bjurstrom shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bjurstrom showed some decent athleticism there.
Saputra is trying to escape back to his feet but Bjurstrom uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Saputra gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bjurstrom seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Saputra is holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Saputra tries to improve his position but Bjurstrom has taken his back! Bjurstrom has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Saputra tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Bjurstrom pushes Saputra away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Marco Bjurstrom!
A relieved looking Marco Bjurstrom thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
