Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 53 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tetsuo Shima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karter Carey!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shima has Carey up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Shima.
Shima working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Shima pushes Carey back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Carey is looking to break free of the clinch but Shima has double underhooks.
Shima scores with a shoulder strike.
Shima on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Shima is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Shima dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Shima for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shima prevents the takedown attempt.
Shima scores with a shot to the side of Carey's head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shima has Carey pressed against the cage.
Carey is trying to break free.
Shima lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Carey takes a shot to the head.
Shima drops down looking for an ankle pick but Carey pulls his leg out and moves away.
A head kick by Carey misses
letting Shima counter with a right hand.
Carey has his takedown stuffed
and Shima counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Shima thuds his right hand into Carey's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Shima goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Carey fails with the takedown
and Shima cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tetsuo Shima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karter Carey.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shima lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carey looks to clinch
and Shima connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Carey is rocked!
Shima lands a right hook to the body.
Carey is still on wobbly legs! Can Shima finish him?
Carey looks winded!
Shima drops Carey with a naaaaasty hook - Carey is in real trouble here! Shima dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tetsuo Shima!
An intense looking Tetsuo Shima took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Thanks for the chance to become champion, it feels great ,looking forward to my first defense.'.
