Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Brown (ranked 269 p4p, 672 weight class) and Soda Popinski (ranked 39 p4p, 86 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Gloom, Doom, Heartache and Whiskey. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Brown! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Soda Popinski! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown scores with a crisp jab that stopped Popinski in his tracks. Brown has been working on his boxing with his coaches at SYDNEY ELITE GYM in the buildup to the fight. Brown throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Popinski makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Brown tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Popinski counters with a stiff right hand. Brown tests Popinski's chin there with a solid looking shot. Brown misses with a takedown attempt - Popinski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Popinski looks like he wants to counter punch here. Brown uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Popinski. Popinski misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown fails with the takedown. Nice straight punches there by Brown. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Brown. Popinski throws a right hand that misses
and Brown counters with a lovely straight right hand!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Brown lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Brown swings widly with a right hand
enabling Popinski to counter with a crisp jab. A swing and a miss from Brown. Brown scores with a jab to the body. Frank Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A lazy left from Brown finds it's target. Brown fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Popinski manages to avoid it. Brown ducks right into an uppercut from Popinski.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Brown creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Brown is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Popinski to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brown has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Popinski is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brown blocks a body shot from Popinski.

Popinski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A looping hook to the body misses from Brown. Popinski does a little dance to reset his feet. Popinski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Popinski doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up but Popinski swats him away and circles back towards the center. Brown darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Brown throws an overhand right that lands on Popinski's shoulder, as Popinski tries to avoid the shot. A countering left hand to the body from Popinski misses. Popinski missing with a left hand there. Brown was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Brown throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brown clobbers Popinski with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Brown cracks Popinski with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Popinski throws a hook but Brown avoids it easily. Popinski fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brown manages to avoid it. A decent looking cross lands there for Brown.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. A big right from Brown misses. Popinski looks to throw the jab but Brown is out of range. A cross from Popinski lands. Brown pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Popinski throws out a counter right but Brown avoids it with no problem. Popinski on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Brown throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Popinski doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Brown is looking to clinch. Popinski lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Popinski jabbing away but nothing is landing. Brown needs to keep his hands up - Popinski had a free shot at his head there. Horrible takedown attempt by Brown or perhaps it was just good defense by Popinski, which made it look bad. Brown fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Popinski on the side of the head. Brown is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Brown bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown throws a jab but it's blocked by Popinski. Brown tries for a takedown but Popinski circles away easily and Popinski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Popinski jabs at Brown's body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brown uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Popinski. Popinski slips a jab from Brown. Popinski looks to score with a jab to the body but Brown is just out of range. Brown is looking to counter with a shot to the body. A shot to the body from Brown misses and Popinski counters with a nice uppercut. Brown ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Popinski moves away.
Brown feints and as Popinski raises his hands in defense, Brown changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Popinski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brown controls the pace. Popinski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Frank Brown will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Brown is trying to control the position but Popinski postures up. Popinski pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brown is keeping the position for now. Popinski preventing the sweep. Popinski trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom. Brown working a defensive guard but Popinski manages to pass into side control anyway.
Popinski is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Brown will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Popinski tries to advance position but instead Brown slips a leg back in to half guard. Popinski wants to control but Brown is keeping him busy. Popinski controlling the pace. Brown wants to get back to full guard. Popinski keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown tries to roll over but Popinski keeps him under control.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Brown misses with a hook. Brown throws a combination that misses and Popinski counters with a left to the body. Brown takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Popinski takes a jab right on the kisser.
Brown tries for a takedown but Popinski circles away easily and Popinski counters with a lovely straight right hand! Brown defending well as Popinski loads up on a big left hand. Brown swings for the body but Popinski moves out of range.
Popinski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Brown shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Popinski pinned against the cage. Popinski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Popinski now looks to counter with a shot at the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Popinski misses with an uppercut. Popinski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brown. Popinski unleashes a big counter combination but Brown bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Popinski on the wrong end of a nice jab. Popinski slaps away a takedown attempt from Brown, before circling back to the center of the mat. Soda Popinski seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nice uppercut lands for Brown. That snapped Popinski's head back.
This has been an exciting period of action! A jab lands there for Popinski. Popinski scores with a jab. Brown lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Popinski throws a hook but Brown avoids it easily. Brown fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Popinski manages to avoid it. Brown blocks a jab. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Soda Popinski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

and Brown holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Brown swings wildly with an uppercut but Popinski uses good head movement to avoid it. Popinski lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Brown drops down looking for an ankle pick but Popinski pulls his leg out and moves away.

Frank Brown overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Brown working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown tries to advance to mount but Popinski denies him. Popinski is not content to let Brown control the position.

Brown tries for a kimura but Popinski is defending well. Popinski tries to bench press Brown off him but Brown keeps the position.
Brown wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Popinski, who protects the arm well. Popinski wants to control but Brown postures up.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brown goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Popinski rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Brown's guard! Nice work there by Popinski!
Brown is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Popinski has his hands clasped together but Brown extends and breaks Popinski's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Brown.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frank Brown! Frank Brown retains his light heavyweight title! A very excited looking Frank Brown made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. The defeated Soda Popinski had this to say: 'Who put water in my bottle? I cannot fight sober.'.
