And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 23 wins and 18 losses; Thiago Cardosi! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

McCain has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Cardosi prevents a takedown attempt there.

Cardosi is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but McCain still has the half guard so he's probably OK.  That's nine minutes gone in the round. Cardosi is looking to reverse the position. McCain is looking to take a break and control but Cardosi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cardosi tries to bench press McCain off him but McCain keeps the position. Cardosi is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked McCain off and has taken his back! Cardosi is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but McCain has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Cardosi is not going to allow McCain to sit and survive in this position.

Cardosi working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Cardosi is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Cardosi is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. McCain is defending well though. Cardosi let's go of the attempt for now. Cardosi really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for McCain.
 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. McCain looking very determined here, making life difficult for Cardosi.
Cardosi is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. McCain knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften McCain for a finish. Cardosi controlling from the back. McCain trying to control but not successfully. McCain is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cardosi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. What can McCain do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Cardosi is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

McCain tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! McCain tries to hold on but Cardosi pushes him away. Cardosi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McCain is looking to escape. Cardosi looking to control and managing it successfully. Cardosi trying to control but he's not successful this time. Cardosi pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cardosi wants to pass the guard but McCain is defending well.
