Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yael Parks (ranked 3863 p4p, 3875 weight class) and Samir Riggs (ranked 145 p4p, 146 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yael Parks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samir Riggs! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riggs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parks but Parks pushes him off and we're back to square one. Parks is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Parks thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Riggs is on top in guard.

Riggs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Parks is aware though and is defending well. Riggs can't keep his opponent in guard - Parks advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Riggs is trying to stand up here but Parks is controlling him well. Riggs is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Parks's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Parks's back! You can see the frustration on Parks's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Riggs is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

That was a close round but I would say that Yael Parks will probably get the nod. That's time! Parks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Parks will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Parks leaves Riggs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Parks fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riggs shoots for a takedown but Parks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Riggs dives in for a single leg takedown but Parks sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Parks is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Riggs misses with a takedown attempt - Parks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Parks's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.  That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Parks letting Riggs take a breather here. Parks has Riggs pushed against the cage. Parks will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Riggs up against the cage. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Yael Parks. Riggs keeps the fight on the outside. Riggs tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Parks tries for a takedown but Riggs circles away easily

Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Parks jumps guard but Riggs stands there with Parks around his waist. Parks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Samir Riggs. Riggs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parks circles away. It looked like Parks was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Riggs. Parks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Riggs counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Riggs. Riggs taking a breather. Riggs stalling in the clinch but Parks improves position. Samir Riggs seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Parks is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
