Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Foot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes into the arena with "All Summer Long" By Kid Rock blaring out of the sound system. George Foot has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from James.

Foot fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but James avoids it really well and circles away.
James misses with a few strikes there.

Foot shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

James darts in and clinches Foot up against the cage.

Foot jumps guard but James stands there with Foot around his waist. Foot gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

James throws an overhand right that lands on Foot's shoulder, as Foot tries to avoid the shot.
Foot tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

James will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Foot counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for James!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James is looking to improve his position but Foot isn't that keen on the idea.

Foot goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now James is on top in guard.

Foot has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. James is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Foot.

James decides to stand back up. James steps back and let's Foot get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Foot uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.

James looks to throw the jab but Foot is out of range.
James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank James will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on George Foot's cut.
That's time! James's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Foot closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Foot lands in his opponent's guard.
Foot won't allow James to get back to his feet.
Foot stands and throws James's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Foot is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. James knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Foot shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Foot keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Foot closes the distance and clinches up with James, looking for a takedown. Foot pushes James against the cage but James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
James leaves Foot with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Frank James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Foot.
James avoids the head kick by Foot.
James fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Foot throws and elbow that misses. James uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Foot's guard. Nice move by James!

James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Foot has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Foot's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frank James.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for James, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
