Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Doric Dienekes (ranked 355 p4p, 489 weight class) and Leonardo Esposito (ranked 49 p4p, 62 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Leonardo Esposito was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Doric Dienekes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leonardo Esposito! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Esposito stalks Dienekes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dienekes's face. Dienekes staggers backwards, shaken. Esposito looks to throw a body kick
and Dienekes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Esposito felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Dienekes missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Dienekes is looking to take a break and control but Esposito is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dienekes frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Dienekes sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Esposito really wants to buck Dienekes off and get back to his feet. The referee warns Esposito that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dienekes controlling from the full mount. Dienekes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Dienekes has control of Esposito's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Esposito regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Esposito throws a right hand that Dienekes ducks under and follows up with a left that Dienekes also avoids with ease. Doric Dienekes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. No joy there for Esposito, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that's the end of the fight! Doric Dienekes showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dienekes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
