The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marrentoo forces Webster back against the cage and clinches.
Webster tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Marrentoo smiles and moves away.
Webster shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marrentoo but Marrentoo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Webster shoots in but Marrentoo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Webster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marrentoo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Marrentoo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Webster's guard now.
Marrentoo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Webster swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Webster knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marrentoo on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Webster has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marrentoo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Marrentoo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marrentoo lands in his opponent's guard.

Well Marrentoo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
