Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trent Clay (ranked 1983 p4p, 4128 weight class) and Roderick Macias (ranked 168 p4p, 309 weight class). Roderick Macias will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trent Clay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roderick Macias! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macias uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Clay has time to react. Macias works the jab nicely. Macias connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Clay momentarily.

Macias is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Macias tries to clinch up but Clay circles away and keeps his distance. Macias scores with a crisp jab that stopped Clay in his tracks. Clay moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Macias is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Macias lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Clay circles away quickly and effectively. Clay fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Macias avoids it really well and circles away. Macias tests Clay's chin there with a solid looking shot. Macias throws a right hand that Clay ducks under and follows up with a left that Clay also avoids with ease. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Clay fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Macias sprawls well initially but Clay persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Macias manages to get to full guard.

Macias is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Clay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Clay got a little sloppy there for a moment and Macias has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Clay has managed to get both his arms back between Macias's legs - danger averted.

 The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Macias is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Clay pulls his head out easily. Clay controlling the pace.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Clay. Clay lands a nice shot to the head. Clay with shots to the head and body - Macias looks very uncomfortable down there. Macias is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Clay has taken his back! Macias staying busy and making it hard for Clay to control. Clay is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Macias is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Clay gets his way!

Clay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Macias but Macias pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Macias is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Clay jumps guard but Macias stands there with Clay around his waist. Clay gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Macias tightens his grip and picks Clay up, before dumping him to the ground. Clay manages to land in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Clay is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Macias drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Clay dives on top into guard.

Macias sneaks out the side door and pushes Clay away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Trent Clay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Clay kicks Macias off and gets back to his feet. Macias tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Clay manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Clay misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Macias walks into a stiff left hand from Clay. Clay takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Clay lands a right hook to the body.
Macias throws a nice looking combination but Clay bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Roderick Macias seems to be getting the better of the standup. Clay walks into a left hand. Jab, jab by Macias - just one landing. Macias lands a glancing blow to the side of Clay's head. Clay tries to close the distance and clinch but Macias swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Macias lands with a nice body punch. Clay shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trent Clay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Macias lands a slapping body shot.

Macias might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. A looping hook to the body misses from Clay. Macias does a little dance to reset his feet. Clay on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. The crowd cheers as Macias lands an impressive looking overhand right. Clay doesn't seem phased though. Clay takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Macias winds up and cracks Clay with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Macias seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Macias lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Clay has hold of Macias's hands but Macias slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Macias thumps the canvas.
