Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Newman (ranked 4827 p4p, 4412 weight class) and Kostadin Dyakov (ranked 440 p4p, 411 weight class). Newman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Enter Sandman. Alex Newman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Newman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kostadin Dyakov!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa J�rvil�inen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Newman wants it to stay on the feet.

Newman closes the distance and clinches.
Dyakov wants a takedown but no success here.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Newman jumps into guard, dragging Dyakov to the mat.
Dyakov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dyakov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Dyakov postures up and lands a big shot to Newman's brow.
Dyakov lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dyakov is looking to control Newman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dyakov avoid being mounted?
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dyakov can do anything to dispel that myth.
Newman is keen to just control but Dyakov is a slippery customer.

Newman seems to be looking for submissions.
Dyakov is looking to improve his position.
Dyakov is trying to stand.

Dyakov manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Newman keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Newman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Newman has Dyakov pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dyakov manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Dyakov tightens his grip and picks Newman up, before dumping him to the ground. Newman manages to land in guard.

Newman kicks Dyakov off and gets to his feet.
Newman moves in looking to clinch but Dyakov pushes him off.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dyakov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Newman's half guard.

Dyakov is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Newman gets back to full guard.
Dyakov is working Newman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Newman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dyakov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dyakov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dyakov is in close to Newman's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Dyakov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Dyakov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Newman dives on top into guard.

Newman wants to control from the top but Dyakov keeps moving.

Dyakov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Newman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Newman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dyakov is trying to keep Newman in close.

Dyakov manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Newman moves in looking to clinch but Dyakov pushes him off.
Dyakov with the counter takedown but Newman avoids it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dyakov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Newman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dyakov is in Newman's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kostadin Dyakov dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Dyakov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dyakov is defended easily by Newman.

Newman moves into range and clinches up with Dyakov.

Newman ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Newman no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dyakov won't allow Newman to get back to his feet.

Newman controls Dyakov momentarily but Dyakov frees himself.

Newman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dyakov defends it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dyakov chips away with some ground and pound.

Newman is rocked!
Dyakov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Oh Newman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dyakov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Dyakov drops back looking for a leg! Newman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Newman manages to kick Dyakov off! Dyakov jumps back into Newman's guard.
Dyakov gets to his feet and stands over Newman, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Newman felt that one! Dyakov unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Newman from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kostadin Dyakov!
Kostadin Dyakov seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
