Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Layne Villegas (ranked 2571 p4p, 3877 weight class) and Ren Okimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Layne Villegas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Layne Villegas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ren Okimoto! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Okimoto moves forwards but Villegas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Okimoto feints and as Villegas raises his hands in defense, Okimoto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Okimoto makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Villegas has momentary wrist control but Okimoto slips an elbow through the middle. Okimoto pushing down on Villegas's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Okimoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Villegas! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
