Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Marks (ranked 1257 p4p, 1679 weight class) and Jørgen Thrane (ranked 162 p4p, 206 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Marks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jørgen Thrane!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thrane pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
It appears Marks was looking to counter with a kick there.
Marks takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Thrane misses with a looping left.
Marks throws a counter high kick but Thrane was just alert enough to avoid it.
Jab, jab by Thrane - just one landing.

It looks like Jeremy Marks has been cut.
Marks takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Thrane misses with a hook. Marks ducked under it nicely.
Marks swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thrane connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Thrane bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Marks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thrane. Marks does a little dance to reset his feet.
And Marks counters with a quick kick to the body but Thrane blocks it.
Thrane rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Marks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Thrane throws an off balance right hand

and Marks counters with a crisp right hand that drops Thrane! Marks lets Thrane back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Thrane is rocked!
Marks throws a sloppy head kick and Thrane moves out of range easily.
Thrane moves out of range of the body kick.
Thrane moves out of range as Marks throws a body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thrane tries a head kick but it misses.
Marks blocks a head kick by Thrane.
Thrane misses with an uppercut. Marks saw that one coming.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marks misses with a hook
and Thrane counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Marks moves away from the strike by Thrane.
Marks walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Marks walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Thrane misses with a head kick.
Thrane looks to throw a body kick
and Marks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Marks slips a jab from Thrane.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Thrane connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marks goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Thrane drops Marks with a left right combo! Thrane follows him down to the ground into side control.
Thrane is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Marks will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Marks is looking to regain half guard here but Thrane keeps moving and retains side control.
The referee asks Thrane politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Thrane prefers to stall for the moment though.
Marks is looking for a sweep.
Marks regains half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marks is positioning himself well to prevent Thrane advancing to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Marks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Thrane's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Thrane's back!
Marks has the hooks in. Thrane is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Marks is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Thrane is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Thrane wants to get back to his feet.
Thrane trying to control but not successfully.
Thrane tries to roll but Marks sticks to his back.
Marks biding his time, looking for the opening.
Marks's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Thrane tries to escape but Marks has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Marks is riding his opponent, not letting Thrane buck him off.
Marks keeps control of the position as Thrane tries to break free.
Thrane is still trying to improve position.

Thrane is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Marks scores with a crisp jab that stopped Thrane in his tracks.
Thrane misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Marks.
Marks throws a head kick that misses.
Marks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Marks looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Thrane takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Thrane tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Thrane throws an off balance right hand

and Marks counters with a crisp one two that drops Thrane! Marks thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Thrane to his feet! Thrane is in big trouble!
Thrane is still on wobbly legs! Can Marks finish him?

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
Marks pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marks tries to bum rush Thrane with a series of wild strikes but Thrane uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Marks engages and cracks Thrane with a massive lead left hook - Thrane tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Marks is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jeremy Marks!
A relieved looking Jeremy Marks thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
