Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Menes Kai (ranked 1269 p4p, 2731 weight class) and Diego Lacasa (ranked 141 p4p, 272 weight class). Kai's entrance music is The Astronaut - Jin. A fine choice. Lacasa is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by DIEGO LACASA (OFFICIAL THEME). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Lacasa!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai throws a body punch but Lacasa moves out of range.
Lacasa throws out a counter right but Kai avoids it with no problem.
Kai has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kai lands a high kick!
Kai lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kai jabs Lacasa to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Kai throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lacasa! But no joy.
Lacasa avoids the head kick by Kai.
Lacasa throws a counter combo.
Kai throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lacasa's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A swing and a miss from Kai.
Kai tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lacasa was well out of range. Poor timing from Kai.
Lacasa looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Lacasa on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kai throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kai throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Kai dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lacasa. That did some damage!
Kai throws an overhand right that lands on Lacasa's shoulder, as Lacasa tries to avoid the shot.
Lacasa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kai.
Kai throws a head kick that misses.
Kai is looking to slow Lacasa down with leg kicks.
Kai fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Lacasa is out of range.

Kai goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Kai's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lacasa under the eye.
Menes Kai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
That kick from Kai tenderised Lacasa's leg. Lacasa is trying to keep his angry face on.
Kai throws a hook but Lacasa blocks it.
Lacasa unleashes a big counter combination but Kai bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Lacasa stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kai.
A low kick lands for Kai.
Kai lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lacasa at a distance.
Kai throws a body punch but Lacasa moves out of range.
Lacasa is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kai with a body shot.

A looping hook to the body misses from Kai. Lacasa does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Lacasa counters with a nice uppercut.
Kai is rocked!

and Lacasa counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
