The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Melia stuffs the takedown attempt from Benny. Benny gets slowly back to his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Benny or perhaps it was just good defense by Melia, which made it look bad.
Benny misses with a takedown attempt - Melia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for D.C. Benny. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Benny is defended easily by Melia.
Benny tries to score a power double leg takedown but Melia sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Benny somewhat.

Melia is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Benny is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Melia is aware though and is defending well.

Benny working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Melia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Melia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Melia tries to move to mount but Benny blocks the move with his legs.
Melia is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Benny is trying to escape and Melia transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Benny is forced to tap! Nice work there by Melia! Very nice indeed!
