This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 1 losses; Olaf Koks! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 1 losses; Ashton Short! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Koks shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Koks (2) vs (0) Short Koks is figuring out what he wants to do next. Koks jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Short manages to avoid the submission attempt. You can see the frustration on Short's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koks controlling the position from side mount.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Koks tries to move into full mount but can't pass Short's legs. Short tries to bench press Koks off him but Koks keeps the position. Koks controls the position. Short tries to improve position but can't. Short stops Koks from passing to mount. Short wants to control but Koks postures up. A lull in the action here.

 That's five minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Koks holds on and takes a little breather. Short pushes down on Koks's leg and manages to get into half guard. Koks gets full guard. Koks is trying to hold Short in close to prevent damage but Short has managed to pass into half guard.
Short tries to pass the half guard into mount. Koks knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Koks gets full guard.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Koks is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Short controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Short wants to control from the top but Koks keeps moving. Koks not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Koks is on top in guard.

Koks being controlled here, momentarily. Let's hope that Short has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Koks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Short stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koks swivels though and keeps the full guard. Short won't allow Koks to sweep him here. Short trying to control but Koks is working from the bottom. Short looking to sit in guard and control but Koks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koks's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Koks advances to half guard. Koks seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Short does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Koks is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Short has managed to free his arm - good work. Koks is looking to advance position but Short won't allow it.
