Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lamar Karter (ranked 327 p4p, 499 weight class) and John Wesley Hardin (ranked 24 p4p, 31 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lamar Karter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Wesley Hardin!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Karter misses with a hook.
A nice leg kick lands there from Karter.
Hardin closes the distance but Karter moves to the side
and Karter counters with a nice uppercut.
Karter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
It seemed like Hardin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hardin scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

It looks like Lamar Karter has been cut.
Karter throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Hardin counters with a stiff right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Karter misses with a straight right.
And Hardin responds with a good body kick, but Karter manages to step out the way in time.
Karter scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hardin doesn't seem bothered though.
Hardin moves away from the strike by Karter.
Hardin thinks about the counter body kick.
Karter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hardin was well out of range. Poor timing from Karter.
Hardin throws a big counter head kick but Karter avoids it with no problem.
Good shot there by Karter.

It looks like John Wesley Hardin has been cut.

Hardin lands a big head kick that sends Karter tumbling to the mat! Hardin takes a step backwards and waves Karter back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Karter is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Karter misses with a body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Karter. Hardin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Karter drops his hands momentarily and Hardin needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Karter just on the top of the head. Karter drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Karter - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). John Wesley Hardin!
John Wesley Hardin is the new super heavyweight champion!
Our winner, John Wesley Hardin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
