Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Mcpaene! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jubei Yaguiu! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcpaene closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Yaguiu manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mcpaene's best efforts. Yaguiu looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Yaguiu is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mcpaene's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mcpaene's back! Yaguiu looking for the RNC. Mcpaene is in bad spot here.
Mcpaene breaks Yaguiu's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Yaguiu looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Yaguiu is looking for a triangle but Mcpaene pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yaguiu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcpaene gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Yaguiu looks gassed! Mcpaene is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mcpaene controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yaguiu has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mcpaene is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Yaguiu. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mcpaene is trying to get an arm triangle but Yaguiu is defending well. Yaguiu wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Mcpaene has hold of Yaguiu's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Yaguiu seems comfortable defending it but Mcpaene has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Yaguiu is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Yaguiu is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mcpaene couldn't care less - he's delighted!
