Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ren Okimoto (ranked 2272 p4p, 5268 weight class) and Jun Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ren Okimoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jun Romero! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Romero or perhaps it was just good defense by Okimoto, which made it look bad. Okimoto changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Romero leaves Okimoto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Okimoto fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Romero sprawls well initially but Okimoto persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Romero is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Romero blocking the ground and pound attempt from Okimoto. Okimoto throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Romero is looking to improve his position.
Okimoto definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Okimoto lands a nice short elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romero is looking to improve his position.
Okimoto tries to pass to full mount but Romero defends it. Romero tries to roll over but Okimoto keeps him under control. Okimoto is pressing down on Romero's thigh, looking to free his foot. Romero is holding on for now.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Okimoto working Romero over with strikes. Okimoto winds up and cracks Romero with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Okimoto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Okimoto lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Romero is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Romero moves into full guard.
Okimoto with a flurry of punches that miss. Okimoto landing some decent shots from guard. Romero wants to sweep here but Okimoto controlling him for the moment. Romero is pulling down on Okimoto's head to control his posture.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Okimoto is in close to Romero's body, working some short punches and elbows. Okimoto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Romero controls Okimoto momentarily but Okimoto frees himself. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Okimoto postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Okimoto wants to pass the guard but Romero is keeping the position. Okimoto loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Okimoto stopping the sweep attempt from Romero. Okimoto with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Okimoto is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Romero trying to control the position.
Okimoto throws a big elbow that misses. Romero tries to land a sweep but no joy. Romero working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Okimoto.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Okimoto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Okimoto lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Romero has momentary wrist control but Okimoto slips an elbow through the middle. Romero has Okimoto pulled in close to control his posture. Okimoto forces his way into half guard. Romero wants to get back to full guard. Okimoto working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Okimoto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Romero wants to improve his position but Okimoto is controlling well.
Okimoto slips a nice elbow through Romero's hands, connecting with Romero's forehead. Okimoto takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Okimoto is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Romero is looking for a sweep. Okimoto is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Romero can do anything to dispel that myth. Romero has hold of Okimoto's hands but Okimoto slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Okimoto takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
 Romero is rocked! Okimoto tries to pass to full mount but Romero defends it. Romero is still in real trouble! Can Okimoto finish him? Okimoto lands with a punch from half guard. Romero wants to get back to full guard. Okimoto working Romero over with strikes. Okimoto lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Romero quite badly. Romero pulls Okimoto in close trying to recover. Okimoto postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Romero on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Romero doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ren Okimoto! During a confident post fight interview, Ren Okimoto thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
