Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonathan Mcpherson!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcpherson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Petrov.
Mcpherson wants to counter with a clinch but Petrov pushes him away.
Mcpherson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Petrov sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Mcpherson wants to pass to mount but Petrov is defending the position.
Petrov tries to roll over but Mcpherson keeps him under control.

Petrov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petrov is staying active underneath Mcpherson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mcpherson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Petrov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Petrov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Petrov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mcpherson tries to avoid it but Petrov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mcpherson to the ground. Mcpherson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Petrov feints and as Mcpherson raises his hands in defense, Petrov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Petrov passes easily into side control. Nice work.
