Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuo Shima (ranked 1008 p4p, 619 weight class) and Juan David Franco (ranked 133 p4p, 82 weight class). Shima comes to the cage accompanied by The HU - Yuve Yuve Yu. Franco has chosen Bullet For My Valentine- Tears Don't Fall as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 54 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tetsuo Shima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 29 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Juan David Franco! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shima avoids the head kick by Franco.
Franco tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shima was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Franco looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Franco ducks under a wild hook from Shima. Franco misses with a wild combination.
Shima is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Franco moves away from the strike by Shima. Shima throws the left hand but Franco avoids the punch easily.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Shima just leaning against Franco, taking a breather. Franco wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shima has him pressed against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shima keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Franco's efforts to push away. Franco prevents a body shot from Shima. Shima lands a shoulder strike. Franco is trying to force a seperation but Shima has the dominant position. Shima is struggling to control the position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A short right from Shima. Shima has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Franco avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Franco manages to break the clinch.
Franco throws a head kick that misses. Shima misses the jab. Franco throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Shima counters with a nice body shot. Franco tests Shima's chin there with a solid looking shot. Shima fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Franco on the side of the head. Shima blocks a head kick by Franco.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Franco tries to break free but Shima pushes him back against the cage.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Shima has Franco pressed against the cage, preventing Franco from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Franco blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The referee calls for Shima to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Franco tries to break free but Shima pushes him back against the cage. Shima displaying some good clinch control by pressing Franco up against the cage. Shima's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Shima lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Franco working hard to break the clinch. Franco has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. The referee calls for Shima to work.

Shima keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Franco's efforts to push away. Shima tries to work over Franco's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Shima swings wildly with an uppercut but Franco uses good head movement to avoid it. Franco is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Franco is trying to break the clinch but Shima is controlling him. Shima gets through Franco's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Shima effectively controlling the action here. Shima pressing his opponent against the cage. Franco looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Franco tries to break free but Shima pushes him back against the cage.
Franco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Shima throws a body punch but Franco moves out of range. Shima throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Franco throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shima. A punch combination from Franco misses.
Shima moves into the clinch. Shima displaying some good clinch control by pressing Franco up against the cage. Shima prevents Franco from breaking the clinch. Shima leaning against his opponent.

Franco breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tetsuo Shima dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Franco moves away from the strike by Shima. Shima tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Franco paws at him with a jab and circles away. Franco moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Franco throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Juan David Franco seems to be getting the better of the standup. Franco slips under a jab.
Shima gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A body shot lands from Shima.
Franco has had enough of the clinch but Shima keeps him there for the moment. Franco wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Franco connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Franco closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shima tries to close the distance and clinch up but Franco swats him away and circles back towards the center. Franco cracks Shima on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Shima falls backwards against the cage. Franco follows up with more strikes that drop Shima to his knees. Franco keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Shima! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Juan David Franco! During a confident post fight interview, Juan David Franco thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. Tetsuo Shima spoke after the fight, saying 'Off to the next, I thought I would have beat this bum but shit happens'.
