The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oakley shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Oakley was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Barakat is trying to get back to half guard.
Barakat is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Barakat looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Barakat is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Oakley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Barakat is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Barakat is looking for a triangle but Oakley pushes his legs off easily.

Oakley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barakat has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Oakley has managed to get both his arms back between Barakat's legs - danger averted.

Barakat has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
