Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Chikorita (ranked 2809 p4p, 2756 weight class) and Gozo Shioda (ranked 298 p4p, 291 weight class). Shioda comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Monster Eats Manhattan - Salvation kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Barry Chikorita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gozo Shioda!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chikorita takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Chikorita tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Shioda counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Chikorita gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Chikorita shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chikorita with a poor takedown
and Shioda scores with a counter punch that sends Chikorita to the canvas! Shioda smells blood - he's punishing Chikorita with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Chikorita has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gozo Shioda!
