Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Saul Gamble (ranked 3908 p4p, 23724 weight class) and Stix Itinya (ranked 0 p4p, 539 weight class). Itinya has chosen 17 in a row as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Saul Gamble!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stix Itinya!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gamble misses with a kick to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Itinya! But no joy.
Itinya misses with a wild body shot.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gamble or perhaps it was just good defense by Itinya, which made it look bad.

Itinya doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Itinya comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Itinya looks to score with a jab to the body but Gamble is just out of range.
It looked like Gamble was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Itinya feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gambles jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Gamble tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Itinya defends well and Gamble ends up having to push Itinya into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Saul Gamble. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Itinya decides to pull guard.
Itinya manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gamble manages to get himself to full guard.
Itinya pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gamble is keeping the position for now.
Itinya seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Itinya has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Gamble has momentary wrist control but Itinya slips an elbow through the middle.

My spies in Globo Gym (5000) inform me that Itinya has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Itinya is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gamble throws his legs up looking for a submission but Itinya uses it to pass to side control.

Gamble seems a little lost for a moment, as Itinya dominates the positioning.

Gamble fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gamble takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Itinya lands a jab to the nose.

and Itinya counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gamble looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Itinya counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Gamble tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Itinya manages to move to mount!

Gamble tries to hold on but Itinya postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Itinya lands a couple of good shots and Gamble has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
