The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Villalobos.
Vakana slaps away a takedown attempt from Villalobos, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Villalobos with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vakana to score with a decent uppercut.
Vakana lands a jab to the nose.
Villalobos looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vakana throws a series of punches but Villalobos avoids them all with ease.
It looked like Villalobos wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Hernando Villalobos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Villalobos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A decent looking cross lands there for Vakana.

We've been informed that Vakana has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
