Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ali Farooq!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xzavier Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farooq shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jacobs but Jacobs pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Farooq closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Farooq tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Farooq has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jacobs can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jacobs is trying to get back to his feet.
Farooq is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Jacobs is trying to escape and Farooq transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Jacobs is forced to tap! Nice work there by Farooq! Very nice indeed!
