PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wantsum Kockinsydemi (ranked 3836 p4p, 3950 weight class) and Aras Dias (ranked 403 p4p, 0 weight class). Kockinsydemi comes to the cage accompanied by Danger Zone - Kenny Loggins. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wantsum Kockinsydemi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Aras Dias!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kockinsydemi throws a head kick that misses.

Dias takes the fight into the clinch.

Dias has picked Kockinsydemi up - he's going for a ride! Dias dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Kockinsydemi kicks Dias off and gets back to his feet.

Kockinsydemi tries to keep at a distance but Dias has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kockinsydemi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dias prevents it.
Kockinsydemi taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Kockinsydemi tries to pull guard but Dias holds him up against the cage and eventually Kockinsydemi drops back down to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dias shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dias was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kockinsydemi throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Dias throws a head kick that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kockinsydemi enables Dias to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kockinsydemi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Dias stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kockinsydemi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kockinsydemi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dias controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kockinsydemi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dias trying to control but Kockinsydemi is working from the bottom.

Dias seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dias tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kockinsydemi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kockinsydemi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dias on the ground.

Dias tries to advance to mount but can't.
Dias just content to control the position.
You can see the frustration on Kockinsydemi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kockinsydemi is looking to reverse the position.
Kockinsydemi throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kockinsydemi darts in looking for a takedown but Dias gets double underhooks and turns Kockinsydemi into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wantsum Kockinsydemi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dias stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Kockinsydemi has Dias pressed against the cage, preventing Dias from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Dias jumps guard and drags Kockinsydemi to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Dias drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Kockinsydemi looking for subs off his back but Dias has passed one foot through into half guard.

Dias seems to be working for a kimura but Kockinsydemi defends the submission attempt.
Dias seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dias wants to free his trapped foot but Kockinsydemi is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dias keeps trying to improve his position.
Kockinsydemi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kockinsydemi wants to control but Dias is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well, if Dias is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.

Dias is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Kockinsydemi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dias pulls his head out easily.

Kockinsydemi is trying to maintain the position but Dias is very close to passing his half guard.
Dias tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kockinsydemi controls his leg.
Kockinsydemi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kockinsydemi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Dias closes the distance and clinches.
Dias tries to throw a body punch but Kockinsydemi avoids it by throwing Dias back against the cage.
Dias effectively controlling the action here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dias is trying to pull guard but Kockinsydemi has him pressed against the cage.

Dias jumps guard.
Dias pulls Kockinsydemi in close to his closed guard and prevents Kockinsydemi from doing any damage or advancing position.
Kockinsydemi trying to control but Dias is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Aras Dias showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dias closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kockinsydemi's guard.

Dias is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dias wants to get up but he can't break Kockinsydemi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Dias pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kockinsydemi back to the cage. Dias follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Nice takedown defense from Dias. No joy for Kockinsydemi on that attempt.

Kockinsydemi looking to score a takedown here. Dias is defending well but Kockinsydemi drives through and ends up in Dias's guard.

Kockinsydemi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Dias escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kockinsydemi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kockinsydemi tries to free his leg and advance position but Dias is retaining full guard.

Kockinsydemi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dias has his foot on Kockinsydemi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kockinsydemi works his way back into a safe position though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dias is on top in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dias wants to control from the top but Kockinsydemi keeps moving.

Aras Dias comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dias has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
