And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Aidan Kincaid!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kincaid is looking to clinch but Cornwall is avoiding it.

Cornwall has closed the distance and engaged Kincaid in a clinch.

Cornwall decides to pull guard.

Cornwall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kincaid can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kincaid avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cornwall looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kincaid is pushing down on Cornwall's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cornwall is fighting to maintain full guard but Kincaid has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kincaid not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Cornwall is looking for a sweep. Kincaid is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Cornwall is working hard here to advance position.

Cornwall with the active half guard here but Kincaid passes nicely into side control.
Cornwall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kincaid wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Kincaid really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cornwall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cornwall is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cornwall looking for submissions off his back.
Cornwall makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cornwall.

Cornwall isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kincaid stacks Cornwall on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kincaid!
Cornwall tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kincaid stands up and beckons Cornwall to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ken Cornwall will probably get the nod.
That's time! Cornwall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kincaid wants to clinch but Cornwall slips to the side

and Cornwall counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kincaid!

Cornwall wants to finish this one by submission but Kincaid is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cornwall.
Kincaid wants to hold on but Cornwall pushes him away.

Cornwall moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kincaid has worked his arm free - good work by Kincaid!
Kincaid is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cornwall's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Kincaid is defending against the submission attempts here by Cornwall.
Kincaid is looking to escape.

Kincaid has his hands clasped together around Cornwall's back. He's all about the action.
Cornwall wants to take a breather but Kincaid is having none of it.

Cornwall is working for a submission of some sort.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kincaid is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kincaid looks to clinch

and Cornwall counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kincaid keeping full guard, as Cornwall tries to pass.
Kincaid wants to stand up but Cornwall is controlling him.
Kincaid keeping moving, preventing Cornwall from controlling successfully.
Ken Cornwall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cornwall drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kincaid manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cornwall has Kincaid in his guard.

Cornwall escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kincaid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cornwall is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cornwall working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kincaid has passed into half guard!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kincaid is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cornwall moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Cornwall had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kincaid is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cornwall Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kincaid's back instead.
Cornwall gets his hands free as Kincaid looks to control.

Cornwall tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Cornwall goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kincaid has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cornwall but great work by Kincaid.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cornwall is trying to control but can't.
Cornwall tries to get to full guard but Kincaid has control of the leg.

Cornwall has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Kincaid escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Kincaid!

Cornwall is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Cornwall is trying to maintain the position but Kincaid is very close to passing his half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nice takedown defense from Kincaid. No joy for Cornwall on that attempt.

Kincaid rushes Cornwall and presses him up against the cage.
Cornwall goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kincaid prevents it.

Still in the clinch, Kincaid scores with a nice short uppercut.
Cornwall tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kincaid smiles and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cornwall has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kincaid finds it's way round the side to connect with Cornwall's head.

and Cornwall holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kincaid pushes Cornwall back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Kincaid throws a knee to the head but misses.
Kincaid tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kincaid lands a nice uppercut.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Kincaid.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
A short body shot lands from Kincaid as the two fighters clinch.
Kincaid lands with a short shot to the head.
A short right from Kincaid on the inside.
Come on Kincaid - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Cornwall blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kincaid misses with a punch on the inside.
Cornwall misses with a knee strike.
Kincaid displaying some good clinch control by pressing Cornwall up against the cage.
Kincaid lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cornwall backwards.
Cornwall jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kincaid walks away with a smile on his face. Cornwall gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kincaid drops Cornwall with a naaaaasty hook - Cornwall is in real trouble here! Kincaid dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aidan Kincaid! Aidan Kincaid retains his light heavyweight title!
