Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Raron Grodgers (ranked 3893 p4p, 4549 weight class) and Deandre Velez (ranked 240 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Grodgers might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Buffalo Soilder. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raron Grodgers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deandre Velez! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ron Honeybunn and Darius Henderson.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grodgers misses with a few strikes there.
Despite the aggression on Velez's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Deandre Velez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Velez gets caught napping as Grodgers dives in and scores a takedown. Velez manages to retain guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Grodgers tries to free his leg and advance position but Velez is retaining full guard. Grodgers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Velez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grodgers is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grodgers stays in close to Velez's body and controls the position. Velez wants to stand up but Grodgers is controlling him.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Grodgers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Grodgers drives through with a takedown into guard. Grodgers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Grodgers lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Velez wants to get back to his feet but Grodgers is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Grodgers landing some decent shots from guard. Grodgers with a flurry of punches that miss. Grodgers won't allow Velez to get back to his feet. Grodgers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Grodgers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Velez for as long as he can get away with. Velez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grodgers is controlling him.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Grodgers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Deandre Velez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Velez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Velez lands a lovely overhand right. Grodgers misses with a head kick.
Velez misses with a few strikes there.
Grodgers is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Velez. Velez swats away the attempt to clinch by Grodgers. Grodgers fails with an attempt to clinch.
Grodgers gets a double leg takedown into Velez's guard. Velez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grodgers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Velez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Grodgers controls the pace.
Grodgers gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Velez misses with a series of wild punches.
Grodgers attempts a counter takedown but Velez avoids it well and moves away. Some wild striking there from Velez.
Velez lands a left and a right that send Grodgers crashing to the mat, dazed. Velez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
 Grodgers is rocked!
Grodgers feints and as Velez raises his hands in defense, Grodgers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Grodgers working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Velez's head. Grodgers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Grodgers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Velez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Grodgers throwing strikes from guard but Velez blocks nicely. Grodgers slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Velez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grodgers is controlling him. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Grodgers controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Grodgers misses with a wild body shot.
Grodgers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Velez napping and manages to drive through into side control! Velez pushes Grodgers away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Grodgers gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Grodgers stands up and beckons Velez to his feet. Grodgers shoots in looking for a takedown but Velez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Grodgers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Grodgers is breathing heavily. Velez stuffs the takedown. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Deandre Velez will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Velez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Velez throws a right and a left that Grodgers avoids nicely.
Grodgers looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Velez tries to kick Grodgers off but Grodgers keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Grodgers decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Velez swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Velez drops Grodgers with a beautiful combination! Grodgers stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Velez is looking for the KO! Oh Grodgers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A chopping leg kick lands by Velez.
Grodgers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Velez is looking to stand up but Grodgers isn't so interested in that idea. Grodgers seems to have got his legs back now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grodgers gets to his feet - Velez follows without any prompting. Grodgers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Grodgers shoots in for a takedown but Velez shows good takedown defense. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Velez. Those never looked like landing. Velez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Velez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Velez tries to bum rush Grodgers with a series of wild strikes but Grodgers uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Velez throws a nice outside leg kick. Velez misses with a body kick. Velez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Grodgers has closed the distance and engaged Velez in a clinch.
Grodgers's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Grodgers slows down the pace here.
Velez manages to break the clinch.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Velez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Grodgers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Velez won't be happy with that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Grodgers slows the pace down.
Velez bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Velez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Grodgers shoots in and gets a takedown into Velez's guard. Velez wants to stand and escape but Grodgers is having none of it. Raron Grodgers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Grodgers engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Grodgers wants to pass the guard but Velez is keeping the position. Grodgers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Velez wants to stand and escape but Grodgers is having none of it. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Grodgers throwing strikes but missing.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Velez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Velez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Grodgers dives in for a single leg takedown but Velez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Grodgers wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raron Grodgers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Grodgers misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Velez.
Grodgers tries to score a body lock takedown but Velez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Velez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Velez throws a leg kick which misses Grodgers's front leg but catches the back leg as Grodgers tries to avoid it. Grodgers takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. A low kick lands for Velez.
Velez tries a head kick but it misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Velez. Grodgers throws an overhand right that lands on Velez's shoulder, as Velez tries to avoid the shot. As Grodgers backs off Velez throws a huge counter combo but Grodgers manages to avoid it all. Velez scores with a one two! Grodgers had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Velez looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Velez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Grodgers. That did some damage! Velez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Velez connects with a solid leg kick. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Deandre Velez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Grodgers shoots in but Velez avoids the takedown attempt easily. Velez is looking for the big counter here. Velez throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Grodgers's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Velez dives in looking to finish as Grodgers flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Velez's strikes! Velez is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Grodgers's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Grodgers was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deandre Velez! In defeat, Raron Grodgers stepped up to the mic, saying 'i am immunized by all losses, I cannot speak on this any more.'.
