PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sss Sss (ranked 5409 p4p, 22761 weight class) and Sss Sss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 144 - 32 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 150 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Fighter B closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fighter A's guard.
Fighter A is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Fighter B is stalling in the full guard.
Fighter A is controlling Fighter B's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fighter A is on top in guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter B pulls Fighter A in to control the position.
Fighter B working a defensive guard here.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fighter A wants to get up but he can't break Fighter B's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fighter B is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fighter A is working Fighter B over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fighter A is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fighter B shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter A tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter B keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter A manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fighter A shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fighter B as he jumps to the side.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fighter A as he jumps to the side.
And Fighter A counters with a quick kick to the body but Fighter B blocks it.
Fighter B changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fighter A tries to avoid it but Fighter B manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fighter A to the ground. Fighter A escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fighter B just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromFighter A.
Sss Sss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sss Sss.

Fighter A closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fighter B to the mat! Fighter B manages to get full guard.
Fighter A slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B wants to sweep but no luck.
Fighter B can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fighter A controls the pace.
Fighter A's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter B is striking from the bottom but Fighter A uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

No luck for Fighter A with that takedown attempt.
Fighter B thinks about the counter body kick.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fighter A as he avoids it easily.
Fighter A fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fighter B avoids it really well and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter A shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fighter B napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fighter B seems a little lost for a moment, as Fighter A dominates the positioning.
Fighter A seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fighter B for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B struggling a bit here.
Fighter B is letting Fighter A control him for a moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Fighter B can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A has his takedown stuffed
and Fighter B counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fighter A thinking.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sss Sss. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter A fails to land the takedown.
Fighter B thinks about the counter body kick.
Nice sprawl there from Fighter B as Fighter A shoots in.
Fighter B tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Fighter B looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fighter A thinks about countering with a body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fighter A shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fighter B counters with a two punch combo.

and Fighter B finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

And Fighter A counters with a quick kick to the body but Fighter B blocks it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sss Sss will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Fighter A preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Fighter A is pulling down on Fighter B's head to control his posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fighter A dives in and grabs Fighter B's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fighter B pushes down on Fighter A's head and hops out.
Fighter B replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Fighter A blocks it well.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fighter A as he jumps to the side.
Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it.
Fighter A tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fighter B swivels and escapes.
Fighter B follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Fighter B tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fighter A sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fighter B somewhat.
Fighter A thinks about countering with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fighter A throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Fighter A throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fighter B's waist but Fighter B gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fighter A off to one side.
Fighter B tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sss Sss. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fighter B gets caught flat footed, as Fighter A shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Fighter B is controlling Fighter A's posture.
Fighter B keeping full guard, as Fighter A tries to pass.
Fighter B not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fighter B looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fighter A slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fighter B keeping full guard, as Fighter A tries to pass.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Fighter A stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fighter A wants it to stay on the feet.
Fighter A quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Sss Sss has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sss Sss is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fighter A throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fighter B tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fighter A is in Fighter B's guard.

Fighter B is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sss Sss showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fighter A, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
