And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 5 losses; Giovanni De Rossi! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Heliogabale changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. De Rossi tries to avoid it but Heliogabale manages to keep hold of a leg and drag De Rossi to the ground. De Rossi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
De Rossi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Heliogabale napping and manages to drive through into side control! We've been hearing good reports from Heliogabale's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De Rossi biding his time, controlling Heliogabale. De Rossi controlling from the back. It looks like De Rossi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
 That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Let's hope that De Rossi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Will De Rossi go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
