Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between August Cooke (ranked 1019 p4p, 2737 weight class) and Luca Cabal (ranked 108 p4p, 281 weight class). August Cooke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, August Cooke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luca Cabal!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabal is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cooke.
A counter left hand to the body from Cooke misses its target.
Cabal lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cooke backs up against the cage.
Cabal throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cooke closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cabal to the mat! Cabal manages to get full guard.
Cabal looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cabal is looking to stand up but Cooke isn't so interested in that idea.
Cooke loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cooke throws a big right hand that misses.
Cooke throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Cooke cracks Cabal with a solid left hand.
Cooke missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cooke working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cabal's head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cabal wants to sweep here but Cooke controlling him for the moment.

Cooke lands a couple of elbows.
Cooke throws a strike but Cabal rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cabal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cabal is looking to stand up but Cooke won't let him.
Cooke wants to get back to his feet but Cabal is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cabal would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Cabal trying to control the position from guard on top but Cooke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cabal tries to free his leg and advance position but Cooke is retaining full guard.
Cooke is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cabal trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cooke wants to stand up but Cabal is controlling him.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Cooke shoots in and gets a takedown into Cabal's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cooke is looking to work some ground and pound but Cabal has wrist control.

Cabal is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cooke advances position into side control!
Cooke lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Cooke fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Cabal tries to bench press Cooke off him but Cooke keeps the position.
An elbow from Cooke crashes against the mat.

Cabal is not content to let Cooke control the position.
Cooke throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Cabal is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cooke asserts his dominance and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Cabal's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cooke lands a strong strike to the head of Cabal. That's dazed him! Cooke looking to finish here. Cabal is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Cooke lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
