The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Radovan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Radovan slips nicely into half guard. Radovan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dodson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Radovan trying to control the pace.
Radovan is working for a kimura but Dodson is defending it quite comfortably.
Radovan works his foot free and advances to mount. Dodson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Radovan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dodson tries to improve his position but Radovan has taken his back! Radovan has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Dodson tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Radovan pushes Dodson away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Luka Radovan!
