Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Heraclio Cabrera (ranked 59 p4p, 442 weight class) and John Boris (ranked 10 p4p, 58 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 3 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Heraclio Cabrera! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Boris! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cabrera connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. A telegraphed right hand from Boris misses the target. Cabrera throws a hook but Boris blocks it. Boris misses with a right hand and Cabrera counters with a nice body shot. Good standup being displayed there by Boris as he connects with a hook. Boris cracks Cabrera with an open hand slap. Boris misses the jab. Boris listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Cabrera throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Boris jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Cabrera moves forwards but Boris connects with a nice, crisp jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cabrera connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. John Boris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boris scores with a nice strike.

Boris shoots in for a takedown but Cabrera shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Cabrera tried to counter with a leg kick but Boris avoided it. Boris slips under a jab from Cabrera. We've been told by Cabrera's head coaches at FF Forever that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Cabrera uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boris.

Boris tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Boris lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Boris takes a punch right to his stomach. Cabrera fires out a quick counter leg kick but Boris just manages to avoid it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cabrera keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Boris. A nice leg kick lands there from Cabrera.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Boris throws a body shot but no joy. Cabrera is looking to counter punch. Cabrera moves out of range as Boris strikes. Boris lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Boris tries to keep at a distance but Cabrera has taken the fight into the clinch. Cabrera misses with a hook from the clinch. A short right hand to the side of the head by Cabrera. Cabrera tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Boris is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Cabrera lands an uppercut. Cabrera doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

That was a close round but I would say that Heraclio Cabrera will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on John Boris's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Cabrera bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Cabrera is looking to counter punch. Boris lands a jab to the head.

That was a close second round but I would say that Heraclio Cabrera will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on John Boris's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Boris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Cabrera wants to get back to his feet but Boris is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Boris connects with a jab. Boris lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Boris avoids the body shot from Cabrera.

 The cut above John Boris's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Boris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Boris dives in for a single leg takedown but Cabrera sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Boris shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A nice leg kick lands there from Cabrera. Cabrera pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Boris checks a leg kick. Cabrera drops his hands momentarily and Boris takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Cabrera will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Boris darts in looking for a takedown but Cabrera gets double underhooks and turns Boris into the cage. Boris shoots in and drives through. Cabrera sprawls well. Boris misses with a shot to the body and Cabrera counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. You can see that Boris has visibly slowed down as a result of the leg kicks Cabrera looks to land a combination. Boris sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Boris takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
 John Boris's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Cabrera buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Boris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
And that's the end of the fight! Heraclio Cabrera showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cabrera, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
