PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lito Harrison (ranked 1514 p4p, 1895 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 162 p4p, 195 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lito Harrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace slips under a jab from Harrison.
Wallace lands a nice looking body shot.

Harrison lands a left and a right that send Wallace crashing to the mat, dazed. Harrison thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Wallace is rocked!

It looks like William Wallace has been cut.
A slapping leg kick lands for Harrison.
Harrison definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Harrison misses with a right hand

so Wallace counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Harrison keeps moving.
Harrison is trying to control the position but Wallace postures up.
Wallace throws an elbow that misses. Harrison uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wallace's guard. Nice move by Harrison!

Harrison not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Harrison works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Harrison content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Wallace works his way to full guard. Good work.

Harrison got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wallace has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Harrison has managed to get both his arms back between Wallace's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Wallace counters with a shoot takedown. Harrison fights it but they end up in guard.
Wallace won't allow Harrison to sweep him here.

Harrison is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harrison is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Wallace looking to pass the guard.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Harrison keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wallace throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Wallace blocks a head kick by Harrison.
Wallace shoots in for a double leg but Harrison sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Harrison working for a triangle but Wallace defends it easily.
Harrison controls Wallace momentarily but Wallace frees himself.
Wallace cracks Harrison with a solid left hand.
Wallace postures up.
Wallace trying to control the position from guard on top but Harrison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Harrison utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Harrison keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully.
Wallace with a flurry of punches that miss.

Harrison has his foot on Wallace's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wallace works his way back into a safe position though.

Harrison looking for a guillotine here but Wallace defends easily.

Wallace drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harrison looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harrison looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harrison!

Harrison just content to control the position.
Wallace tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Wallace can't do much from the bottom here.
Harrison remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Harrison tries to advance to mount but can't.
Wallace is looking to regain half guard here but Harrison keeps moving and retains side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on William Wallace's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Harrison throws a sloppy head kick and Wallace moves out of range easily.
William Wallace is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Harrison throws a head kick that misses.
Wallace with the counter takedown but Harrison avoids it easily.
The fighters circling - Harrison throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wallace is looking to clinch.
Harrison throws a front kick aimed at Wallace's knee but Wallace avoids it well.
Harrison jabs at Wallace's body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Harrison sprawls well. Harrison wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wallace gets slowly back to his feet.

Wallace misses with an uppercut
and Harrison counters with a low kick, right behind Wallace 's knee.

and Harrison counters with a head kick that drops Wallace to the mat! Wallace scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Crack! A monster head kick from Harrison and Wallace falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Harrison!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Lito Harrison!
