This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 26 wins and 32 losses; Trace Mack! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 1 losses; Biff Bagwell! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Mack pushes Bagwell up against the cage in a clinch. Mack tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bagwell smiles and moves away.
Mack gets in close and instigates a clinch. Mack is trying to pull guard but Bagwell turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bagwell wants to pass the guard but Mack is keeping the position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bagwell is pushing down on Mack's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mack is fighting to maintain full guard but Bagwell has managed to sneak the leg through.

Mack trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mack is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Mack is having to fend off submission attempts from Bagwell, who is looking to sink in the choke. Bagwell doesn't have the hooks in though and Mack manages to reverse position! Bagwell tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mack is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Bagwell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mack is one step ahead there.

Bagwell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mack gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mack drops back looking for a leg! Bagwell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bagwell manages to kick Mack off! Mack jumps back into Bagwell's guard. Mack trying to control but Bagwell is working from the bottom.
Mack thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mack is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mack drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bagwell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mack has Bagwell in his guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Mack (2) vs (10) Bagwell
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Bagwell trying to control but Mack is working from the bottom. Bagwell pushes down on Mack's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mack moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bagwell stands and throws Mack's legs to the side, diving into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Mack (2) vs (13) Bagwell Bagwell wants to control but Mack is keeping him busy.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Mack prevents Bagwell from moving into mount. Mack is looking to regain half guard here but Bagwell keeps moving and retains side control. Mack gets back to half guard. Bagwell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Bagwell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mack is looking to escape. Mack keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mack is working hard here to advance position. Bagwell avoids the attempt from Mack to control. Mack is looking to improve his position but Bagwell isn't that keen on the idea.
 That's ten minutes gone in the round. Bagwell wants to control the action but instead Mack gets a body lock and reverses into Bagwell's guard! Nice work! Bagwell seems keen to control Mack's posture. Mack controlling from the top position. Mack wants to control from the top but Bagwell keeps moving.

Bagwell has his foot on Mack's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mack works his way back into a safe position though. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bagwell is on top in guard.

Mack is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Bagwell frees his head nicely. Oh but Mack has switched to an armbar! Bagwell is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
