Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Mullins (ranked 5101 p4p, 4425 weight class) and Johans Mikkelberg (ranked 396 p4p, 375 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gordon Mullins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johans Mikkelberg!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikkelberg throws a lazy head kick
and Mullins counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Mikkelberg!
Mikkelberg is trying to improve his position.

Mikkelberg takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Mikkelberg takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Mullins lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Mikkelberg wants to get back to his feet.
Mikkelberg tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mullins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mullins lands a nice forearm strike.
Mullins creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mullins cracks Mikkelberg with a big right hand but Mikkelberg just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Mullins wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mikkelberg, who protects the arm well.
Mullins in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Mullins connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mikkelberg some visible discomfort.
Mullins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mullins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mikkelberg on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Mullins controls the position from side control.
Mullins tries to advance to mount but can't.

Mullins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mikkelberg has escaped the position, nice work there.

Mullins lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Mullins.
Mikkelberg defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Mullins cracks Mikkelberg with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Mikkelberg from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Mikkelberg is rocked!
Can Mikkelberg hold on?! Mullins is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mikkelberg is covering up but some of the strikes from Mullins are getting through and doing damage.
A helpless look comes across Mikkelberg 's face. He knows he's trapped as Mullins lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!
