Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kai Gonzaga (ranked 3984 p4p, 4011 weight class) and Reid Brook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kai Gonzaga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reid Brook!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brook swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gonzaga lands with a nice body punch.
Gonzaga throws a sloppy head kick and Brook moves out of range easily.
Brook fails with a takedown attempt.
Gonzaga changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brook tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gonzaga swivels and escapes.

As Gonzaga backs off Brook throws a huge counter combo but Gonzaga manages to avoid it all.
Brook shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brook was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gonzaga sneaks out the side door and pushes Brook away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Brook throws a right and a left that Gonzaga avoids nicely.
Gonzaga uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Brook has time to react.

Gonzaga fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Brook has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Brook seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gonzaga lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Brook has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Brook and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
