Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Filipe Martins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Shannigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shannigan has chosen Slaughtered - Pantera as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Filipe Martins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Shannigan! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martins takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Martins slips a jab and a cross from Shannigan.
Shannigan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Martins on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice shot by Shannigan. Shannigan misses with a two punch combination.
Shannigan tries to clinch up but Martins circles away and keeps his distance. Shannigan misses with a hook. Martins ducked under it nicely. Shannigan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Martins takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Martins is breathing heavily. Shannigan cracks Martins with an uppercut from hell and Martins crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Shannigan's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

That's one minute gone in the round. Shannigan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Shannigan wants to pass the guard but Martins is keeping the position. Martins working for a triangle but Shannigan defends it easily.
Shannigan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Shannigan looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Shannigan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Martins is keeping the position for now. Shannigan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Martins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shannigan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shannigan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Shannigan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shannigan controlling from the top position. Martins keeping full guard, as Shannigan tries to pass. Shannigan showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Despite being in the dominant position, Tommy Shannigan just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Shannigan misses with a straight left. Shannigan dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Shannigan misses with a straight left. A clash of legs there as Martins blocks the low kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shannigan misses the shot to the body. Shannigan throws a jab but it's blocked by Martins. Shannigan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Martins on the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tommy Shannigan dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Shannigan throws a lazy right hand but Martins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Shannigan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Shannigan throws a leg kick but Martins checks it. Shannigan bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Martins! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
It looks like Filipe Martins has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shannigan sitting in guard, not really doing much. Martins throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shannigan escapes and throws Martins's legs to the side, diving into side control! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shannigan controlling the position from side mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shannigan stands up. Martins takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Tommy Shannigan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martins defending well as Shannigan loads up on a big left hand. Shannigan misses with a wild body shot. Tommy Shannigan seems to be getting the better of the standup. Shannigan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Martins's head. Shannigan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Martins bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Shannigan jabbing away but nothing is landing. A telegraphed right hand from Shannigan misses the target. Shannigan misses the shot to the body. Shannigan jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shannigan lands a nice looking body shot.
Martins takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Martins is rocked! Martins bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Shannigan comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Martins falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Martins was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tommy Shannigan!
