Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikolai Kozlov (ranked 2552 p4p, 4928 weight class) and Branson Shields (ranked 270 p4p, 424 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolai Kozlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Branson Shields!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Topper Green and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kozlov darts in looking for a takedown but Shields gets double underhooks and turns Kozlov into the cage.
Shields steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kozlov.
Shields throws a knee to the head but misses.
Shields is looking to take this one to the mat.
Shields gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kozlov.
Kozlov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shields pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikolai Kozlov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kozlov avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kozlov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kozlov.
Kozlov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shields avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kozlov is looking for a sweep. Shields is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Shields is stalling here. Kozlov is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Shields seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kozlov has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kozlov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Shields avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kozlov.

Shields really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kozlov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
