Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector Souza (ranked 4025 p4p, 4006 weight class) and Ari Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hector Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ari Norris! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Norris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Souza but Souza pushes him off and we're back to square one. Norris uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Souza. Norris lands a nice leg kick that just misses Souza's sensitive parts.
Norris gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Norris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Souza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Souza's corner is telling him to maintain position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Souza wants to get up but he can't break Norris's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Souza trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Norris working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Souza has passed into half guard!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Souza wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if Souza is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Souza lands strikes from half guard. Souza passes to side control. Souza taking a breather here. Souza could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Souza has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Souza decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Norris gets caught flat footed, as Souza shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Norris looks winded! Souza seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Souza would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Souza slips nicely into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Souza lands a nice short elbow. Souza wants to stand up but Norris manages to regain full guard. Souza is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Souza stands and throws Norris's legs to the side, diving into side control. Norris is trying to escape the position but Souza is controlling the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Souza tries to stand but Norris is controlling his head. Souza slows the pace down.
Souza has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Souza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Souza has Norris up against the cage in a clinch.
Norris is trying to break the clinch but Souza is controlling him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Souza has hold of one of Norris's legs. Norris is fighting the takedown attempt but Souza gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Souza thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Souza slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hector Souza dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Souza looks to score with a jab to the body but Norris is just out of range.
Souza shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Souza showed some decent athleticism there. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Souza in particular looking to stall. Norris trying to get back to full guard but Souza takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Souza content just to control the position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Souza with the ground and pound from mount.
Souza is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Norris to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Norris shrugs it off. Souza is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Norris can do to turn this around? Norris is breathing heavily. Norris taking shots to the head. Souza lands a big shot there that rocks Norris but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Souza looking to control and managing it successfully. Norris throws a strike from the bottom but Souza uses the opportunity to take his back.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Can Norris hold on?! Souza is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Norris looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Souza just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Souza.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Souza seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Norris for as long as he can get away with.
Souza working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Norris is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Souza has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Norris taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hector Souza!
