This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 9 losses; Mark Norman! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Eddie Farnsworth.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Norman fails with a takedown attempt. Norman misses with a takedown attempt - McCoy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McCoy drives through and clinches with Norman against the cage.
McCoy has clasped his hands together around Norman's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCoy happy to just control the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCoy continues to stall.

McCoy is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at League of Shadows MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it. McCoy is looking to control Norman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McCoy avoid being mounted?
 That's three minutes gone in the round. McCoy won't allow Norman to pass to mount. McCoy keeping hold of Norman's head, controlling as best he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Norman seems content to control.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. McCoy tries to roll over but Norman keeps him under control. McCoy trying to hold on to Norman's head to control him but Norman postures up.
Well, if Norman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Norman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Norman wants to pass to mount but McCoy is defending the position.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Norman with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. McCoy is controlling Norman's position as best he can from this difficult position. Norman is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Norman wants to pass to mount but McCoy is defending the position. McCoy trying to control but Norman postures up.

McCoy preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. McCoy wants to improve his position but Norman is controlling well.
Norman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Norman wants to take McCoy's back but he can't do it this time. Norman controlling the position easily from mount. McCoy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
McCoy stops Norman from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Norman has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of McCoy's body.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Norman is trying to stick to McCoy's back but McCoy is turning into Norman. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Norman's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by McCoy. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: McCoy (6) vs (8) Norman The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Norman trying to keep a closed guard but McCoy is proving a slippery customer.
Norman wants to sweep but no luck. Norman keeping full guard, as McCoy tries to pass.
 That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. McCoy trying to control the position from guard on top but Norman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Norman trying to control the position here. Norman looking for a sweep. Not yet Norman, not yet.
 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Norman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. McCoy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Norman looking to hit a scissor sweep but McCoy is one step ahead there.
