The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Ecker gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Ecker (2) vs (0) Sang Woo Sang Woo is pressing down on Ecker's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ecker wants to pass the guard but Sang Woo is keeping the position. Ecker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Sang Woo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've been hearing that Ecker has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Sang Woo can't keep his opponent in guard - Ecker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ecker works his way into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Ecker (5) vs (0) Sang Woo We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ecker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Sang Woo is looking to reverse the position.

Sang Woo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Ecker is working hard here to advance position. Sang Woo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ecker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sang Woo is keeping the position for now.

Ecker is working to tighten his grip on Sang Woo's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sang Woo has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ecker is really squeezing tight and eventually Sang Woo passes out! Ecker breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
