Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Crystal Cage (ranked 4857 p4p, 3994 weight class) and Karlos Vemola (ranked 0 p4p, 389 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vemola shoots in for a takedown but Cage shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cage throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vemola sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Vemola is looking for the big counter here.

The fighters circling - Cage throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vemola is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

As Vemola tries to get set, Cage tries to push him back and clinch up but Vemola manages to avoid the attempt.
Vemola looks to land a combination but Cage avoids it well.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Cage enables Vemola to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cage manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Cage on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cage tries to get out of the position.
Cage is trying to control the position but Vemola postures up.

Donk. Vemola catches Cage right on the button with a cross.

Crystal Cage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlos Vemola.

Cage defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vemola.
Cage seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Vemola changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cage tries to avoid it but Vemola manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cage to the ground. Cage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cage swats away the attempt to clinch by Vemola.
Vemola tries to clinch but Cage moves out of range.
Vemola closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cage quickly recovers to half guard.
Vemola is trying for a kimura here. Cage looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Vemola wins by kimura!
