The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlsson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Carlsson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlsson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Curtis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carlsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carlsson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Carlsson has hold of Curtis's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Curtis tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Carlsson cranks the arm and Curtis screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Curtis, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
